The big gurudwara in Annnadpur (I don't know how many there are here, but it is a small village and lots of gurudwaras. I visited 5 or 6 in one early morning jaunt.). This is where the Khalsa was born. Guru Gobind Singh turned the living presence of the Guruship over to the scriptures, the SIri Guru Granth Sahib. This was a major revolution in social structure in Northern India. From this point onward, any 5 Sikhs, in the presence of the "Siri Guru Granth" is believed to hold the consciouness of the Guru. In a society dominated from the top down, with caste systems and the rest, this is a significant change. "No longer are you to bow to a human." "The form has been set." Posted by Hello
